Welcome to the first major update to Nuclear Knights (!), update 1.2, or the Fate and Terror update.

BIG MECHANICS CHANGES

• Fate has been dramatically overhauled. Before, all it did on its own was dodge damage. Now, everyone has less of it but its uses are more broad, both mechanically and narratively. Whenever Fate is spent, something sick as hell should happen.
  • The Accursed class has been overhauled. As the class that intersects most with the Fate mechanic, a change to Fate is a change to them.
  • Divine Worship and some other Disciplines have been tweaked to keep the Fate economy consistent.
  • Adversaries can no longer use Fate, instead they have their own shared pool of a resource called Terror that accomplishes the same end Fate used to, but also allows them to do special super-attacks after charging it.

• Breakthroughs/learning Disciplines has been overhauled. There are now multiple types of attempt at a further Discipline ability to make it a fun and rewarding choice in the moment. Tallies are now called XP.
  • The Scholar class has been tweaked to match the new Breakthrough mechanics, and have them more easily learn new Disciplines.
• Added terminology for "challenge rolls" and "precision rolls", two things that were already in the game but needed easy mechanical reference. Things that use these mechanics now simply say the name of their type of roll.

AESTHETIC CHANGES

• Fixed grammar and added clarity to language where necessary.
• Universalized two-column formatting for more appealing and condensed rules.
• An illustration added for Characteristics : )
• Changed many of the magic item descriptions to make them more good and awesome.
